Gear test and acquisition

Went to a couple shops to get… items. Picked up a Minnehaha saddle bag at Hiawatha and a jacket and booties at Freewheel. I spent way too much, but that’s how these things go.

Escape

I did it. I got all the requisite parts on the bike, disconnected it from the trainer, got dressed and got out. It was weird at first. The bike felt super twitchy. Not used to giving it steering input. It was like learning to ride all over again. My old habits returned quickly. Clip out before you stop. Drink every ten. Look over your shoulder. Look over your shoulder. Read the road. Pick a line.

Before long, I was in Fridley.
